A Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) stands as a robust and comprehensive training model designed to assist employers in the transformation and cultivation of entry-level employees into highly skilled professionals. RAPs serve as a strategic tool for creating talent pipelines and retaining experienced and skilled workers.
The foundation of a Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) lies in a work-based learning system that caters to workforce requirements by equipping individuals with the necessary skills for various trades. This is achieved through a combination of paid On-the-Job Learning (OJL) and Related Technical Instruction (RTI).
通常, most RAPs are completed within a 1-4 year timeframe, with specific durations determined in accordance with guidelines set forth by the United States Department of Labor (USDOL). Throughout the program, the apprentice will engage in Related Technical Instruction (RTI), which may include online coursework, while working in collaboration with a skilled tradesperson from the employer partner during the On-the-Job Learning (OJL) component. This journey leads to the attainment of a degree, 认证, 和/或许可, alongside the acquisition of a nationally recognized USDOL credential in their chosen skilled trade.
